Singapore Choral Festival

7 Iconic Conductors

Singapore Choral Festival is a local choral arts festival that seeks to showcase the achievements of Singaporean choral artists. First organized in 2015 to mark the 50th Golden Jubilee celebration of Singapore, the festival highlights the long history of Singapore choral music by presenting 50 Singapore choral compositions and our local composers. It was a great celebration involving over 1000 singers from 39 primary, secondary school choir, junior colleges, university choirs, semi-professional and senior choirs performing for last year’s festival.

This year’s SCF put the limelight on our choral conductors whom stand at the fore front of both the local and international choral scene. They have made great strides for the choirs, from promoting choral arts within Singapore communities to winning top competitions around the world. This year we honour the educators and pedagogues that make the choral arts possible in Singapore.

Taking turns to perform for 2 concerts at the Victoria Concert Hall on the 23rd and 24th July 2016, each iconic conductor will present a set of choral music highlighting their musical styles and also allow the audience to better understand the intimate relationship between Conductor, Choir and Music.
